Echo And The Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch has said he feels Liverpool FC‘s current co-owner Tom Hicks is “raping” the team’s fans.
McCulloch is one of a number of famous Liverpool fans to appear in a video protesting against Hicks, which you can watch below.
The Echo And The Bunnymen singer laid into Hicks for his refusal to sell the club, which he took over with George Gillett in 2007.
McCulloch declared the club is a “family” to its supporters, adding: “It’s their family. It’s like you’re raping all of them at once, over a long period of time, and getting away with it.”
Hicks yesterday (October 7) vowed to fight the proposed sale of the club in the High Court, reports BBC Sport.
