Moose Blood confirm hiatus after being removed from Good Charlotte’s UK and European tour

"We feel as though we can’t stay quiet about this any longer"

Moose Blood have confirmed they are taking a hiatus, after Good Charlotte removed the band from their upcoming UK and European tour.

The Kent emo outfit were originally due to support Good Charlotte at a one-off show at London’s Alexandra Palace on February 20. The show would have been preceded by their presence on a full European tour, which kicks off in Vienna on January 31.

They have now confirmed that they’re taking a hiatus after being pulled from the bill less than a day after their involvement was originally announced.

The Kent band have faced controversies in the past 18 months, with drummer Glenn Harvey leaving the band in March 2017 following allegations of “inappropriate behaviour”. This was followed by allegations aimed at Moose Blood frontman Eddy Brewerton in February of this year after he was accused of stealing nude photos from a woman’s phone – allegations that he denies.

“It breaks our hearts to have to write this but it’s something we need to talk about. We feel as though we can’t stay quiet about this any longer”, said Moose Blood in a statement posted to Facebook.

“We have been condemned in the absence of fact off the back of serious false allegations, and a situation concerning our former drummer.”

“We are genuine, decent human beings who work hard at something we love,” the band added.

“We take slight comfort in knowing that the people who do actually know us, knows this to be true. Rumours have escalated beyond belief and it makes us sick to our stomachs that we have been very wrongly labelled with these horrendous, incorrect terms.”

“We’ve decided to remove Moose Blood from our recently announced tour,” the band said in the statement. “We apologise for any inconvenience, but we feel we have a commitment to keep to ourselves, our fans and our community. Stay tuned for further support announcements soon.”
