St. Patrick's Catholic School

Knights of Columbus secretary Jim Gude, former Grand Knight Matt Ascherl, Knights of Columbus treasurer Douglas Perry, St. Patrick’s Catholic School principal Jessica Schmalen, school board president Michael Murphy and Grand Knight Dennis Abele show off a donation check. The Knights of Columbus donated $17,000 to St. Patrick’s.

The 100-Day Raffle by the Knights of Columbus Sheldon Council will help benefit St. Patrick’s Catholic School for years to come.

It is the fourth year of the raffle and it was the best one to date as the Knights of Columbus raised $17,000 for the school. Officials from St. Patrick’s Catholic School and the Knights of Columbus met recently for the check exchange.

“This has been the best one for us,” said Knights of Columbus treasurer Doug Perry. “We would just like to thank the community for the support and we hope to continue to support the different charities and projects that we have in the past.”

The 100-Day Raffle started on Sept. 7 and ends on Dec. 31. There is a raffle drawing each day.

The cost was $100 per ticket and a maximum of 250 tickets were sold. Every ticket is eligible for each drawing and there is one drawing every weekday and on Saturdays. All but one of the weekday drawings are for $50.

The drawings for the three Saturdays in September were $75 and the four Saturdays in October were for $1,000. November’s Saturday drawings are for $150 and December’s drawings are for $200.

The final day of the drawing is Dec. 31 and the prize is $300.

Drawing results for the previous week will be posted in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church bulletin at hwy60catholiccluster.org/bulletins and on Facebook.

All of the raffle proceeds went to the St. Patrick’s Catholic School general fund.

“The support has really been fantastic,” Perry said. “Everyone enjoys being in a raffle and even if they don’t win one of the prizes, the funds are going to a good cause to support the school and what it does.”
