ALVIN Stardust has sadly passed away at the age of 72.
The Jealous Mind singer is said to have been suffering with a "short illness" which led to his tragic passing.
The singer, according to the BBC, was with his wife and family at his home when he lost his battle.
Alvin was also recently diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer.
DJ Tony Blackburn has already paid tribute to the hit maker on Twitter and wrote: "So sorry to hear about Alvin Stardust. He was a lovely man and gave us some great songs. R.I.P."
Famous for hit tracks including My Coo Ca Choo, Jealous Mind and I Feel Like Buddy Holly, Alvin was once described as the "Godfather of British Rock 'n' Roll".
The 72-year-old was also due to release his first studio album in 30 years this autumn.
Alvin's talents didn't end there either as he also took to the stage in multiple musicals such as, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Phantom of the Opera.
Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this sad time.
