Sunday Morning Quarterback: Three postgame reads from Michigan’s 30-24 win over Ohio State | Jones

Rod Moore interception

Michigan safety Rod Moore (9) rises to celebrate after diving interception of Kyle McCord pass intended for Ohio State's Marvin Harrison (18) that climaxed Wolverines' 30-24 win on Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich.AP/Carlos Osorio

I’m the last guy to rationalize defeat. That old Bill Parcells quote: “We are what our record says we are,” is the motto of the bottom-line business of football coaching.

That’s what makes the gig so maddening for the people in it. Especially in a razor-close game like Michigan’s 30-24 win over Ohio State, the difference between victory and defeat usually comes down to fractions of yards and split-seconds one way or the other in a sport where decisions must be made on faith.
