The Courteeners are wily veterans of the Reading Festival stage, but never have they occupied such a lofty perch as they do today on the Main Stage, and they are well and truly suited to their surroundings.
Liam Fray swaggers around the stage like a true rock god frontman, cool as f*** and channelling the spirit of the Gallagher’s and other indie legends.
Their set is fervently received by the Main Stage crowd with people being lifted up onto shoulders left, right and centre.
The biggest of the reactions are from songs from the band’s debut album, ‘St Jude’ and the highlight of these is ‘Not Nineteen Forever.’
Today The Courteeners solidify themselves as indie royalty and earmark their spot as headliners in waiting.
