Enjambre

Enjambre consists of the brothers Luis Humberto (vocals and guitars), Rafa (bass guitar and vocals) and Julian Navejas (keyboards and vocals), plus Javier Mejía (guitar) and Angel Sánchez (drums).

The members of the group are originally from Fresnillo, Zacatecas, but in 1998 the Navejas brothers and Angel Sánchez changed their residence to Santa Ana, California, in the United States, where they ended up forming the band Enjambre with the addition of Javier. In 2004, the group released “Consuelo en Domingo”, their first LP, which earned them great prestige in U.S. underground circles.

In 2007, Enjambre launched their next álbum called “El Segundo es Felino”, produced by Julián Navejas, which includes 14 tracks that reflect the beneficial influence of boleros and ballads from the sixties and seventies. Towards mid-2008, having toured the Mexican Republic, the band decides to move to Mexico City since that was the place of greatest acclaim.

Enjambre presented their third álbum in 2010. It was called “Daltónico” and reached a broader audience beyond the underground realm. Said álbum had such an impact that they had the opportunity of performing at bigger and more prestigious venues, such as the Lunario and the Metropolitan theater. According to the Rolling Stone magazine of Mexico “Daltónico” was one of the best records of 2010; this was also the case according to different blogs that named Enjambre as the band of 2010. The group achieved their peak with their vibrant performances at the Vive Latino Festival, a stage where they showed their impact on the audience and a musical strength only present in a few Mexican rock groups, as well as their first tour throughout the Mexican Republic.

In 2012 the group released their fourth álbum called “Huéspedes del Orbe.” This album provided Enjambre the opportunity to include U.S. cities in their tour, as well as Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay, besides touring Mexico once more with sold-out shows at prestigious venues such as the Auditorio Nacional of Mexico City, in front of 10,000 people.

Their fifth album, “Proaño” (2014), had them touring the same countries they had toured before, and on this occasion they finished their tour at the Palacio de los Deportes in front of 15,000 people who were singing all of their songs. Daltónico, Huéspedes del Orbe and Proaño all surpassed the platinum record classification based on the sales, and this was celebrated in front of 100,000 fans at the Zócalo in Mexico City as a closing act during the Youth Week at the end of 2016.

In May of 2017 Enjambre launched their new album “Imperfecto Extraño” that reached first place in domestic sales, and the group begins a tour that features over 20 shows in Mexico and the United States during the first leg of the tour, including a show at the Auditorio Nacional of Mexico City on October 8.
