On December 1st, the official Just Music Instagram account announced that GIRIBOY is parting ways with the record label. His contract will formally end in December, after his upcoming album is released. The artist has been signed to Just Music since 2011.

Following the announcement, Swings, the founder of Just Music, made an Instagram post regarding the artist's departure. He wished him all the best in a sentimental message that reflected on their time spent together over the years. Swings expressed his approval of GIRIBOY becoming independent while stating:

“I will always continue to root for you”

GIRIBOY later commented under the post, saying:

“I’m leaving with only good memories~”

In 2018, GIRIBOY became the co-CEO of Wedaplugg Records alongside Swings. In the message posted on Instagram, Swings confirmed that GIRIBOY will remain in his position within this record label.

GIRIBOY has been well-known in the Hip-Hop industry ever since his debut. He has made appearances on reality TV shows like Show Me The Money and No Mercy. On the Circle Album Chart, his 2015 album Sexual Perceptions reached the top 10. In 2019 and 2020, GIRIBOY was the winner of the Korean Hip-Hop Awards’ Producer of the Year Award. During his years with Just Music, the artist released 10 albums, 11 EPs and almost 40 singles.
