Keystone Resort To Unfurl Rainbow Flag For Inaugural Queer Ski Weekend

Calling all LGBTQIA+ snow enthusiasts and allies! Keystone Resort, nestled in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, is gearing up for its first-ever Queer Ski Weekend, taking place on March 1st and 2nd. This exciting new event promises two days of shredding the slopes, celebrating community, and fostering inclusivity on the mountain and in the vibrant River Run Village.

The weekend kicks off on Friday evening with a live drag show at Warren Station, promising dazzling performances from local talent, including Keystone's very own Ms. Bunny Hill. This 18+ event sets the tone for a weekend of fun and self-expression.

“We are thrilled to partner with Mountain Pride to host our first Queer Ski Weekend at Keystone this season. This event is an opportunity for skiers and riders to come together and celebrate in a welcoming and supportive environment, and I think that’s incredibly important for our resort and our industry. We’re proud to host community events like this that promote diversity and inclusion at Keystone and also create memorable experiences for our guests.” said Chris Sorensen, General Manager & VP Keystone Resort

“In the heart of the mountains, events like Queer Ski Weekend serve as powerful affirmations of unity, acceptance, and the unyielding spirit of our queer community, especially in mountain locales where access to queer spaces can be scarce. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and support of Keystone Resort for hosting and Epic Promise for helping us create this vital space!” said Madison Partridge, Director Mountain

Saturday is all about carving rainbows into the fresh powder. Participants can gather for a group ski day starting at 9 am, with check-in near the River Run Gondola. The day unfolds with camaraderie on the slopes, culminating in a group photo at the top of Schoolmarm and a joyous parade down the mountain.

Keystone Resort, in partnership with Mountain Pride, a local LGBTQIA+ non-profit organization, has curated this event to provide a welcoming space for everyone. Whether you're a seasoned skier, a snowboarding newbie, or simply looking to connect with the LGBTQIA+ community, Queer Ski Weekend promises an unforgettable experience.

Beyond the slopes, attendees can enjoy après-ski gatherings, live music, and special dining options throughout the weekend. The welcoming atmosphere of River Run Village ensures plenty of opportunities to make new friends and celebrate inclusivity both on and off the mountain.

Registration for the group ski day is encouraged, but not required. For more information and to register, visit the Keystone Resort website or contact Mountain Pride.
