by storagereview

CA ARCserve D2D for Linux is a quick backup and restore software that complements CA’s existing ARCserve D2D for Microsoft Windows, producing a complete solution for today’s heterogeneous environments. By providing fast, frequent backups and flexible recovery with built-in data security, ARCserve D2D facilitates both data security and disaster recovery for physical and virtual servers. ARCserve also has data compression functionalities that minimize the hardware footprint for backup-related storage requirements. Restores are granular down to a single file and can be recovered to similar or dissimilar physical or virtual servers.

Accessible via an intuitive Web 2.0 interface, the ARCserve console enables automated agent installation, centralized management, configuration, and reporting of all protected Linux servers. This cross-platform solution reduces the time and effort that administrators spend supporting mission critical systems across their IT environment. CA ARCserve D2D for Linux supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x and 6.x, as well as CentOS 5.x and 6.x. Other CA ARCserve backup, replication and high availability solutions also support Linux.

Licensed individually on a per server basis (physical or virtual), CA ARCserve D2D is also included in CA ARCserve managed capacity (per-Terabyte) and virtual server per-socket offerings.
