"Luck is where opportunity meets preparation," explains singer-songwriter Ryn Weaver of her chance encounter with mega-producer Benny Blanco. The beat savant became the "Warhol to the Factory," connecting her with the likes of Jessie Ware and Charli XCX (whom she dubs "a fierce fellow Leo") after she moved to Los Angeles. Although the starry names sit comfortably in the 22-year-old's inner circle, it's her whimsical style and mesmerizing presence that have us hooked.

"I want people to love my music because they can relate to what I'm talking about," she shares. Having grown up with three brothers, Ryn is also prone to the J. Law effect—she's refreshingly outspoken and unafraid to use the F-word. "Anyone who says they aren't a feminist hasn't read the definition," she says. "I hope my fans know that I'm doing this as a woman who doesn't have to sell anything other than good music."

Between her stellar EP, Promises, and an upcoming debut album titled The Fool, featuring tunes about "losing yourself to love," Ryn is quickly redefining the pop prototype.
