The nomination list of 20 po'boy spots was compiled by local foodies, according to the contest website.

"Lafayette's Olde Tyme Grocery has been making top-notch po' boys since 1982," the website reads. "All the usual suspects are on the menu, and specialty options include the Olde Tyme Special with ham, turkey, roast beef and Swiss cheese, and the Two Meat Combo with ham, roast beef and Swiss. The shrimp po' boy, overflowing with golden-fried morsels, is a favorite."
