THEIR hits were the soundtrack to raves and club nights across Europe in the 90s.

And 29 years after their debut single Get Ready For This stormed to number two in the UK charts, 2 Unlimited remains a favourite on the nostalgia circuit - albeit with a different line-up.

Dutch rapper Ray Slijngaard and vocalist Anita Doth fronted the group for five years from 1991 to 1996.

During this period 2 Unlimited achieved 16 international hits including No Limit and The Real Thing and sold a huge 18 million records.

The group were Top of the Pops regulars, starring on the show 11 times.

Reflecting on his appearance as a 19-year-old, Ray told MuzikXpress: "It felt like a fairytale. I was there and I wasn't y'know. I felt good, I met a couple of artists then. Gabrielle was there and I think East 17. We had to rehearse the whole day it was a long day and there we were in the top 10 with stars like Michael Jackson, Madonna and Whitney Houston. It was crazy, wow."

The pair left the group at the end of their five-year contract having failed to gain more creative input in the group.

In the years that followed the pair performed the group's tracks separately before reuniting at a 90s event in 2009.

They then began performing as Ray & Anita, achieving chart success in Holland with their original track In Da Name of Love, which peaked at number six in 2010.

And three years later they were once again performing under the 2 Unlimited banner after reunited with producer and co-founder Jean-Paul De Coster.

There were festival performances aplenty and even a greatest hits release before they split once again in 2016 with former traffic warden Anita launching a solo career.

Ray drafted in Kim Vergouwen as her replacement before turning to Michèle Karamat Ali earlier this year.
