Past his prime but former Tottenham Hotspur forward Clinton N'Jie knows how to become the cynosure of all eyes. Even the Spurs fans would've forgotten the bloke who had a brief spell with the Mauricio Pochettino's side four years ago. However, the Cameroonian professional footballer is now the talk of the town with his recent 'accidental' stunt outside the football pitch. N'Jie has managed to weave a fresh controversy by becoming the butt of all jokes. The Dynamo Moscow star 'mistakenly' shared his own sex tape by live-streaming the same on the internet. 

Thanks to lucrative wages followed by immense fame, the world of football can make any athlete shine bright like a diamond - overnight. Though it takes a lot of hard work and skills to take centre stage in the beautiful game and given that fame doesn't last long, footballers are often remembered by their controversies and shambolic acts done outside the pitch. Be it, Diego Maradona, Mario Balotelli or Paul Gascoigne, every success story has had a bittersweet ending when legs failed to mesmerise fans. Following almost the same footsteps, N'Jie did the impossible at a young age of 25 by making a mockery of himself on social media. 

The scandal and the unconvincing excuse

With tons of fans questioning his dignity after his disgraceful act as an athlete, it was expected that the former Lyon and Marseille striker will make a decent attempt to rescue himself from the shutterbugs sponsored by the unforgiving media. Topping all excuses in one go, the 25-year-old forward revealed that he had actually consumed a lot of alcohol or was super thrown which laid the foundation of an embarrassing video.

Pressed the wrong button, my bad! 

N'Jie admitted he was drunk while celebrating his new deal with Dynamo after sealing a transfer from Marseille. He later tried to Google himself to know more about the transfer and ended up sharing his 'me time' with his fan army. Yes, N’jie pressed the wrong button and allegedly Snapchatted himself with an unknown female in a compromising situation. In a report, the African footballer apologised for his obscene act which has seemingly hampered his footballer career. “I’m sorry, I had drunk too much,” he said. “I celebrated my new contract and wanted to read the news. I pressed the wrong button,” he added.
