Samuel F. 'Sparky' Sirimarco

Samuel F. "Sparky" Sirimarco, 78, of Ellwood City, went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, June 11, 2008, in the Ellwood City Hospital.

Born July 2, 1929, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Angeline (Capani) Sirimarco. Samuel served as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War at Fort Hood, where he helped to develop communication with hand radios. He retired from B&W Tube Company, Beaver Falls, where he was employed as an industrial engineer. Samuel enjoyed bowling, fishing, and making fishing flies. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler's fan, coached youth baseball in Wayne Township, and coached men's softball at Steifel Park. Samuel was a member of the Ellwood City Moose Lodge No. 93, S.O.I. No. 608, and was a life member of the Holy Redeemer Parish, Ellwood City.

Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Mary Ann (Pisano) Sirimarco; two sons, Joseph of Bellevue, WA, and Samuel D. of Tucson, AZ; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Joel Nelson, Alliance, OH; a sister, Clemmy Sirimarco, Ellwood City; three grandchildren, Victoria, Daniel, and Anna; his mother-in-law, Rose Pisano, Koppel, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

Friends will be received Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the JOSEPH A. TOMON JR. FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport. Family will also receive friends Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of prayer service at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Parish, Ellwood City, with Rev. Fr. Lou Pascazi officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Redeemer Parish Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ellwood City Hospital, 724 Pershing Street, Ellwood City, PA 16117.

The family would like to thank the Ellwood City Hospital faculty and staff of the ICU, 3rd Floor Skilled Care Unit, for their loving care.
