A little video clip showing a bit of the second battle from Nemona's scenario! This fight starts integrating support from the mysterious Cassiopeia, who takes time 'charging' before using support skills (such as auto-injecting Focus Energy). So far it's randomized to a degree what Cass can do to help but as the scenario progresses I plan to give the player more direct control.

A reminder that you can try the current build of this WIP fan game by visiting the main post over here for download links!

It does feature a unique take on Nemona x Penny if that's your bag, btw!

Project Fightstar Demo!

A fangame crossover AU RPG with Girls' Love themes built using renpy, the visual novel engine.

So far, the current version of the demo features introduction story scenes and a sample battle for two scenarios:

  • Charo / Alesea - [Dame Daffodil]
  • Nemona (/ Cassiopeia) - [Pokémon]

Currently, the budget for this fangame concept has run dry (to pay the artist for sprites and possibly programmer for the heavy work it takes). For the time being, we'll have to take a break and see what people think of the progress so far!

If you'd like to support this project, you can follow us here and/or Twitter, you can donate to the programmer on Ko-Fi, or if you'd like to discuss including a specific character/OC and the resources involved, please contact us via DM here or on Twitter.

Finally, here's the main sprite artwork of the three playable heroines so far: Charo, Alesea, and Nemona, all drawn by @sakura-rose12

Been working my ass off on this project this past month to update a lot of things about it and add some more content, hoping to have a new public build ready next weekend.

Took a little longer than expected, but the game demo has received a new update! The links should be the same, the version should be updated. Lots of adjustments, new visual effects, and a second battle for both scenarios so far has been added.

Among other things, this update adds a ability to unlock one new attack for each of the heroes so far, and Nemona's scenario begins to incorporate Cassiopeia's assistance in battle.

Thanks for checking this out!

If you like my writing and Sakura's art, you could check out the substantial demo build of my original visual novel, DownRight Fierce. I'd love some feedback on it so far as I've been slowly working on it since the start of 2020. The combat of FightStar is actually doubling as practice/learning for adding combat to this project's fight scenes.

If you like Charo and Alesea and aren't familiar with their source material from @sakura-rose12, they are actually magical girls from Sakura's original webcomic, Dame Daffodil.

Thanks for checking out our work!

"¡Oye! Let’s have us a fruitful battle!"

To debut the first demo version of this crossover AU fangame, we're happy to reveal the third fighter to join Project Fightstar: Nemona, hailing from the Pokémon franchise.

You can try the demo right now! We have two sample battles with some introduction story for Charo / Alesea (Dame Daffodil) and Nemona / Cassiopeia (Pokémon)

In this AU setting, Nemona is just as obsessed with battling as she is in her source material, but in this world does the fighting herself, usually against monsters directly. She's become well known in her home state of Paldea as the Champion of Cabo Poco, and one of the state's most promising up-and-coming defenders against the monster invasion that continues to cause problems for the nation.

Fight Style:

Nemona's specialty is speed and applying self-Buffs. Using her unique Mon Bracer (designed by her girlfriend, Penny), she is able to absorb Primal Energy from monsters she faces in order to copy their moves by powering herself up. In other words, all of her attacks will be based on moves featured in the Pokémon games. She excels in Buffing her attack, defense, and agility with moves like Focus Energy and Double Team, then unleashing multi-strike hits like Comet Punch, which are especially powerful when her attack is buffed.

Nemona can also go all-for-broke with Dynamic Punch, a 50% chance move that deals heavy damage or misses entirely. And she even has a single-use Recover capsule that can fully restore her HP in a pinch, keeping her in the fight.

Beyond the scope of the demo, she will be helped from afar by Cassiopeia, a mysterious hacker who is able to lend her aid from a safe distance, so players will have to work with what Cass is able to give them to help get Nemona through the trials that wait before her.

Nemona's scenario is being written/designed by @destiny-smasher (who is also the one programming the entire game!)

The first two fighters to Project FightStar will be Charo (right) and Alesea (left). They originally are from a magical girl webcomic called Dame Daffodil. These drawings are made by @sakura-rose12 who is also their original creator and the one who makes the webcomic! In the original story, they are a young couple who became magical girl heroines and protect their town from monsters.

In the AU setting of FightStar, Charo/Alesea are tag-team heroines who protect citizens from monster attacks while also training to be wrestling stars! They are a married tag-team duo who backs each other up in fights with love and support. They are not technically "magical girls" in this world, however they still have magical powered attacks and use magic to transform into their fighting uniforms!

Fight Style:

CHARO will be an Offense fighter with strong attacks who will be able to speed herself up to dodge attacks. Her signature move is Daffodil Beam, which takes a turn to charge and has a chance to miss, but is very powerful if it hits.

ALESEA will be a UTILITY fighter who supports the team with healing and defense abilities, but can also use her Lily Whip to try and Bind enemies so they are unable to attack during their turn!

Charo/Alesea's scenario is being designed by @ryonaneer

Project FightStar is an RPG fangame concept featuring an AU crossover world where monsters roam the land and can cause problems for people, so many heroes spring up to help defend their hometowns from monster attacks.

The gameplay idea is to have an arcade-style experience where a scenario can be played in one or two hours or less, with story scenes inbetween battles unique to each fighter team. Combat will be a turn-based RPG system with many forms of Buffs/Debuffs/Status Effects, and hopefully an element of randomness so each playthrough can feel a bit different as you upgrade your fighter, face different events and monsters.

The first demo of this fangame should arrive sometime in March, and will feature two introduction scenes with an example battle.

The planned scenarios so far:

Scenario 1: Charo and Alesea from the Webcomic Dame Daffodil

Scenario 2: Nemona and Cassiopeia from Pokemon Scarlet/Violet

If this fangame project gains some support, the idea is to incorporate many AU versions of characters, both OCs and from official games and maybe other places as well.

Please look forward to a demo of our RPG concept coming soon!
