Rik Barron of Newfoundland and Randy Bulpin of Australia, who have a musical partnership of many years’ standing, will perform on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m. at The Music Box, 147 Creek Road, Craftsbury.

Barron, an ex-Mountie and now a resident of Woodbury, Vt., is a master of the guitar, mandolin and banjo and a founding member of The Fousty Toutons, Newfoundland’s most famous folkabilly band. His collaboration with bass and guitar virtuoso Chili Taylor earned three Canadian Folk Music Award nominations and two East Coast Music Award wins.

Through his long relationship with banjo icon Tony Ellis, Barron has forged a unique instrumental style combining the elements of Celtic, Maritime and American music.

Bulpin, born in England and raised in Australia, plays both acoustic and electric guitar, specializes in slide and dobro and has extensive experience as a professional touring and recording musician, while also achieving success as a songwriter and producer. He has shared the stage and studio with Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge, John Prine, Rick Nelson, Joe Cocker, Bo Diddley and Stefane Grappelli, among others. Bulpin also performs with his wife, fiddler Leslie Campos, in a duo known as Laslo Cameo.

Admission is by donation at the door. Information: 586-7533, themusicboxvt.org; rikbarron.com; laslocameo.com.
