Zappos getting ready to debut new, interactive anchor store at Mall St. Matthews
A new anchor store is coming to Mall St. Matthews and it will offer more than just shoes.Zappos.com is getting ready to open a brick-and-mortar store Friday after weeks of preparations. Zappos Unboxed can be found at mall on the side facing Shelbyville Road.According to Zappos, the store will not only offer shoes, clothing and accessories, but also a couple interactive elements representing the "famously fun brand."Once customers arrive at the store they will find a new shopping experience which will include a giant retro-illuminated pegboard for "hands-on creative engagement." The company said the pegboard was previously located at Zappos HQ in Las Vegas.The store will also feature a one-of-a-kind noise/sound art installation called "ShoeZaphone" that was donated to Zappos by the Blue Man Group."Our customers can expect dynamic merchandising and product drops by some of their favorite brands, all at a great price," said Sarah Fee, senior director of operations at Zappos.The store will feature products that are regularly found on the Zappos website.
