CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies believe that alcohol and speed were factors in an early Friday morning crash in Cascade Township that left two people hospitalized.

Around 3 a.m., deputies with the Kent County Sheriff’s Office were sent to eastbound 28th Street SE near Old 28th Street SE for a crash.

Responding deputies learned that a Dodge Charger driven by a 39-year-old woman hit a curve, a tree and then a divider before coming to a stop.

The driver and the 20-year-old front-seat passenger were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the sheriff’s office said. Their conditions have not been released.

Deputies believe that alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
