We’re getting married!

John and Sara’s love story began on Tipperary Hill in Syracuse, NY. John was living in the upstairs apartment of a two family house. A few months later, along came Sara (and Mary!). Moving from just around the corner, Sara and Mary were looking forward to their new place and to be rid of their previous noisy upstairs neighbors. John soon realized his life as an only child was about to change. In addition to having to share the driveway and dryer, John made some other changes that were quickly noticed by his friends’. Questions such as “John, why is it so clean up here?” and “Why do we have to be so quiet coming upstairs now?” John’s answer, “I just want to be a nice upstairs neighbor.” John then found himself waking up extra early during snowfalls to shovel and clean off cars. Sara often bragged to her friends that she had the best upstairs neighbor ever. John wanted to respect Sara’s space and so other than general pleasantries, John minded his business. Life went on for a while, until John and Sara found themselves sitting across from each other on a concert shuttle bus and then ended up enjoying the concert together. This lead to future conversations and hanging at their favorite Tipp Hill establishments. Sara began telling her friends that “the nice upstairs neighbor” was becoming someone she was actually really interested in. As time went on, they found something that they both truly had a special passion for… food. John likes to brag it was his homemade pizzas on a snow-day that captured Sara’s heart and it was her handmade salsas that were the key to John’s. But most importantly it was their passion for cooking together that brought them together. There was no hiding it anymore, John and Sara were inseparable. The final test was to see if Sara thought John was a good fit to be a dog dad for her pup, Monte. It was another match. Fast forward to August, 2021 when John asked that certain downstairs tenant to spend the rest of her life with him!
