Sharing Christ's Love with International Students in North Texas

Special Times in SE Asia – Lisa and Roy’s summer Trip to Visit Students

Misc

Special Times in SE Asia
In late June we had the special opportunity to travel to several Asian countries to visit former international students, including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Taiwan, and also to attend ISI’s National Staff Conference in Singapore. The conference was top-notch with speakers that talked about discipleship, Muslim evangelism, dealing with spiritual warfare, and many other topics related to our ministry.

At the conference, Roy also did some advanced M:28 training, the Discovery Bible Study method that has been adopted by ISI and has been used to produce disciples on many college campuses in the U.S. and around the world.

We enjoyed getting to know the small country of Singapore and learning about how it operates. It is a very orderly society with many systems in place to encourage the good behavior of its citizens. It is also a beautiful country. We enjoyed visiting the botanical garden with its unique orchid species.

Visiting Special Friends

These are just a few of the former students we were able to visit on our trip. What a privilege to see how God has been working in the lives of these dear friends. Thank you to everyone who gave to make these student visits possible

Please Pray for Us!

  • August is a really busy time for us as hundreds of new students arrive on the UTA campus. We will be busy with airport pickups, rides to Walmart, the used item giveaway and the Big Howdy Welcome party. Pray for good connections with new students.
  • Please pray for our kids. Jonathan had to postpone his study abroad in Japan that he had planned for this summer. He is now hoping to go in the winter term. Timothy will be a senior in high school and just got his driver’s license. He also has a new part-time job at McDonald’s. It looks like he may get an internship with the City of Arlington this fall. Charis is about to be a freshman in high school and is planning to try out for the volleyball team. Pray that they would see God’s hand in every area of their lives.
