Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation Website Development

In today's digital age, an online presence is paramount for non-profit organizations to effectively communicate their mission, engage with supporters, and drive meaningful impact. This case study delves into the collaborative efforts of Prytula Charity Foundation and Brights.io, as we successfully launched a lightweight, functional website that enables the foundation to efficiently share their story, mobilize supporters, and make a profound difference in the world of charitable initiatives.

About the Client

Meet the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, a Ukrainian non-profit organization that sprang to life in 2020 and truly hit its stride during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Today, they're making waves as one of the most impactful volunteer initiatives around.

Picture this: a powerhouse of over 200 volunteers and fund-workers, all working tirelessly every single day. Their mission? Transforming generous donations into valuable support for Ukraine. The fund’s main goal is to support the Ukrainian Defense Forces and civilians affected by the conflict. They work in two key areas: collaborating with communities and institutions to help people rebuild their lives in liberated and front-line regions. And providing combat units with communication gear, optical devices, drones, transportation, and medical supplies.

But here's the cool part: The Prytula Foundation needed to boost their online presence to make things even better. So, they asked us at Brights.io for a hand. Alongside our partners at Lazarev design agency, we built a robust but lightweight website to make donations easier than ever before, therefore encouraging people to donate and stay informed about ongoing activities, initiatives, and urgent updates.

The Challenge

When we took on the task of creating a website for the Sergiy Prytula Charity Foundation, we knew it was no walk in the park. Our mission was to develop a website that not only seamlessly combined military and humanitarian aid but also inspired increased donations, all while maintaining a user-friendly feel. Therefore, here are some challenges we had to overcome during this project:

  • Balancing Complexity and Familiarity: We had to make a website that mixed military and humanitarian help, got people to donate more, and made everything faster and easier. But it also had to feel familiar to the people using it.

  • Up-to-Date Info: Keeping all the info fresh was a big deal. We needed a way for the team to update things quickly.

  • Easy Payments: We wanted users to be able to pay in a way that was super convenient for them.

  • Unstable Connections: This was a big one. We needed the website to work even if someone had a bad internet connection, like in places with shaky signals or for soldiers out on the front lines.

Our Solutions

Our collaboration with the fund was rooted in a common goal—to make a significant and positive impact in the lives of those affected by conflict and defending our sovereignty. To achieve this, we aimed to develop a website that not only streamlined the donation process but also offered a host of innovative features, ensuring a user-friendly experience and a more effective approach to charitable endeavors. Let's explore these solutions in detail:

  • Flexible Donations: The website offers a unique opportunity for donors to contribute in two key directions — humanitarian and military. This flexibility ensures that donors can support the cause that resonates most with them.

  • Fund Support Widget: Ensuring easy access to support, we've embedded a fund support widget on all pages, allowing users to choose between one-time contributions or subscriptions to make giving a breeze.

  • Directed Donations: Donors can now choose specific areas for their contributions, such as communications, drones, vehicles, or tactical medicine for the military, or infrastructure, medicine, or modular houses for civilians. This allows for targeted support based on individual preferences.

  • Project-Based Donations: With fundraising projects like Prytula's "Narodniy Bayraktar," "Na Pomstu," and "Narodni Bronyovyki," users can readily participate in mega fundraising initiatives. Widgets on the main page make it effortless to join these projects.

  • Payment Flexibility: To accommodate users globally, our website enables donations in various currencies (USD, UAH, EUR) and payment methods. Users can also choose their preferred payment method, whether it's PayPal, Patreon, or even cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether.

  • Transparency and Reporting: We prioritized transparency by providing real-time updates on urgent needs and monthly reports on activities. This transparency fosters user awareness and encourages more generous donations.

  • Engagement and Humor: To add a personal touch, we incorporated humor from Serhiy Prytula, who shares jokes depending on the donation amount. Additionally, the fan calculator allows fans to easily transfer funds to the charity.

  • Useful Content: Comprehensible even for non-tech-savvy individuals, our admin panel empowers the foundation's team to swiftly update information, ensuring that the latest news and needs are always available to the public.

  • Partnerships: We've dedicated a page for potential partners, outlining cooperation rules and offering ready-made media materials for potential collaborations. An application form for partnership is also available for those willing to provide support, whether material or informational.

Results

As we reached the culmination of our collaboration, the Sergiy Prytula Charity Foundation expressed their gratitude through a heartfelt gesture — an iconic watermelon from the de-occupied Ukrainian territories in Kherson region, located in the south of Ukraine. This region, renowned for its agriculture, embodies resilience as local farmers continued their work even during the Russian occupation, persevering despite the presence of landmines. This gift serves as a poignant reminder of the foundation's vital mission and the importance of our role in supporting their cause.

Our development efforts have yielded a functional yet simple, advanced yet lightweight website. This transformation equips the foundation with the tools they need to reach a broader audience and inspire more generous donations. The process of donations and requests for help has now become easier and faster, and most importantly — accessible even in conditions of a weak connection.

Thanks to the Prytula Foundation for trust and the Lazarev Agency for effective teamwork.
