HSLDA has worked hard to ensure that the scholarships and resources offered to children of service members are available to homeschooled students. Here are a few of the opportunities you can explore.

Scholarships
  • Fisher House Scholarships for Military Children
    The Fisher House Foundation offers scholarships for children and spouses of service members, as well as for children of military personnel who died or became disabled while on active duty on or after September 11, 2001.
  • AER Spouse and Children Scholarship Program
    Army Emergency Relief offers higher education scholarships for children and spouses of military personnel.
  • Military.com Scholarship Search
    This is a search engine for scholarships available to military personnel and their families.
  • American Legion Scholarships
    The American Legion offers various scholarships for teens involved in American Legion youth activities, as well as a scholarship for children of military personnel who died while on active duty on or after September 11, 2001.
  • Post 9-11 GI Bill Information
    The Post 9-11 GI Bill allows dependents of eligible service members to use their parents' unused GI Bill benefits for higher education expenses.

Agency Resources

The Department of Defense and related agencies support homeschooling families. The following websites deal with DoD's general school policy, not necessarily homeschooling in particular, and provide a variety of resources supporting families, children, and youth.
