Paint starting to chip off on bottom of doors on 2010 F150

Post by feldmann »

I'm having some some paint chip off thats starting at the bottom of my doors and I want to nip it in the bud before it gets serious as I live in an area that has pretty serious winters where they put a lot of salt on the roads. Theres also some small rust spots starting in the wheel wells that I'd like to fix before they get too serious. Just looking for the best option to do this myself.

Thanks!

Welcome to the site. You need to get on that rust (and other places like the rockers and cab corners) ASAP or it's going to get much, much worse.

There is a thread here about rust - http://www.fordf150.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=121585 - basically if you don't have the door bottom edges treated and re-painted they're going to rust out over time. I can see your rockers are already rusting pretty bad.

Another recent thread worth reading - http://www.fordf150.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=118338

Definitely need that taken care of soon.

If you invest in painting, I'd also invest some good mudflaps as you don't appear to have them. That will help stop it from happening again.
