      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Led by a charming performance from Paul Rudd, Ant-Man offers Marvel thrills on an appropriately smaller scale -- albeit not as smoothly as its most successful predecessors.

Hadrian M One of the better MCU films, would have been better with Edgar Wright behind it. You can tell which are his scenes and which are Reeds scenes as Reeds scenes are less creative. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Audience Member Overall good, a little on the cute side - like for a kid and this is the first of the MCU that I felt that way about. Well GOTG a little bit but they did enough with that it didn’t have as much of that feel. Maybe this movie gives me a “Honey I shrunk the kids” throw back feel. Haha Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/25/24 Full Review Jacob C I mean it's Paul Rudd. Give the man a role like this, he is sure to blow it out of the park. This is such a good movie for Marvel lovers like me. We get a break from all the stress of the "Bigger guys" and get to look at new characters to hopefully see them across other Marvel franchises. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review Kevin K Another bit of Marvel homework Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/07/24 Full Review Zinjx W A really small marvel superhero movie down to the street level. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/01/24 Full Review Weabuu 0 Very underrated. It's a shame how bad the next movies in the ant man series are.. Aramide Tinubu Shadow and Act Despite its absurd romantic storyline, and creepy crawlers, Ant-Man is a superhero film worth seeing. I don't think I've laughed so hard in any other Marvel film. Apr 12, 2017 Full Review Max Weiss Baltimore Magazine Ant-Man is a surprisingly nimble, enjoyable origin story with a little-guy-saves-the-day quality that will particularly appeal to younger viewers. Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 10, 2016 Full Review Jason Bailey Flavorwire Is Ant-Man worth seeing? (As if my answer matters; like all Marvel movies, it'll make a mint.) Sort of. May 27, 2016 Full Review Cory Woodroof For the Win (USA Today) The remnants of Edgar Wright’s scrapped vision for this film and Rudd’s impossibly buoyant charm helped the first Ant-Man movie stand out. Feb 27, 2024 Full Review Manuel São Bento MSB Reviews Ant-Man is another successful MCU origin story. Primary mission accomplished: fantastic casting for a significantly developed superhero and his future sidekick. Rated: B Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand This is a superhero film as a caper comedy adventure and that’s part of the charm. There’s a lack of bombast and epic scale, refreshing in a genre that keeps trying to top itself. Apr 14, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
