      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Deborah Ayorinde and Ashley Thomas' gripping performances help Them sustain a sufficient sense of terror, but its blunt and bloody approach undermines any social commentary in favor of more superficial horrors.

Sunday W It's a hard watch and I feel like that's why the ratings are so low. It's not a feel good show. But it's incredibly well done and the cast was superb at delivering such a painful, haunting, and distorted story. Definitely worth watching. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/29/24 Full Review M S Great movie great scenery just enough horror and thrill to keep you watching Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/28/24 Full Review Sabrina S Amazing writing, beautiful directing, and stellar cast. This show is worth the watch if you enjoy cerebral and thrilling stories. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review R Z There's a part in the first episode where the radio is playing that song "Get Happy" and they repeat the lyric "it's all so peaceful on the other side" like 10 times. And then they put a spooky demon voice filter over it, in case you still didn't get the point Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/28/24 Full Review J.Elizabeth F This is the best depiction of marginalization and discrimination. That is the genesis of mental illness, and if you cannot understand that then you live in a glass house. It will likely be broken Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Audience Member Starts off good, but loses charms later in the series. Pretty enjoyable overall though Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Michael Blackmon BuzzFeed News Unfortunately, while it’s gorgeous, Them has nothing new or interesting to say. Apr 5, 2022 Full Review Robert Levin Newsday The potential for a resonant depiction of the all-too-common, real world nightmare experienced by the Emory family is lost in a sea of clichés. Rated: 2/4 Apr 26, 2021 Full Review Shireen Rose Shakouri Bitch Media Through powerful, skilled acting, smart cinematography, and immersive scenery and scoring, Them drops viewers into a tale that leaves no guessing where American horrors fester. Apr 20, 2021 Full Review Justin Charity The Ringer An overwrought race-horror anthology about housing discrimination, defined in large part by its excessive self-consciousness of its creative debts to Peele... Sep 13, 2023 Full Review Joanne Laurier World Socialist Web Site All the complications of the historical process and social life are thrown out the window.
